Microwave Signal Analyzer for Satellite and Radar Measurements

Anritsu-ms269023 April 2012 - Anritsu Corporation announced the release of three hardware options for the company’s popular MS269xA Signal Analyzer series (MS2690A/MS2691A/MS2692A), with wideband FFT analysis functions for evaluating microwave systems such as satellite and radar, as well as future wide bandwidth mobile communications systems. This enables analysis bandwidths of up to 125MHz to be realized at carrier frequencies up to 26 GHz.

The three released hardware options are the MS269xA-077 Analysis Bandwidth Extension to 62.5MHz; the MS269xA-078 Analysis Bandwidth Extension to 125MHz; and the MS2692A-067 Microwave Preselector Bypass (only for the MS2692A).

Installing the MS269xA-077 in the MS269xA series expands the standard analysis bandwidth from 31.25 MHz to 62.5 MHz, while adding the MS269xA-078, expands it even further to 125 MHz, enabling capture and quality analysis of wideband signals operating up to 6 GHz. In addition, installing the MS2692A-067 option in the MS2692A bypasses the microwave preselector, permitting signal analysis at bandwidths of 62.5 or 125 MHz for microwave systems up to 26.5 GHz.

The MS269xA Signal Analyzer series is an ideal measurement solution for capturing wideband signals for analysis using FFT technology. The high speed capability and sampling of the MS269xA Signal Analyzer series support analysis of transient phenomena that are hard to capture using sweep-type spectrum analyzers. Satellite and Radar systems can often suffer from intermittent signal problems and this technology provides an effective tool to capture and analyze these transient events. By releasing these wideband measurement options for the MS269xA series, Anritsu continues to be a world leader in signal quality analysis solutions for microwave Satellite and Radar systems, and next-generation mobile systems.

These upgrades are also being used to support the roll-out of next-generation LTE Advanced mobile communications systems expected to use 2 x 20MHz Carrier Aggregation at service start and building out to the 100 MHz bandwidth in the future. Already the MS269xA series with these new wideband measurement options will lead the field in LTE Advanced evaluation and measurement.
