Latest Test and Measurement NewsBackground: IEEE 1687 vs. 1149.1-2013 for Embedded IPComparing and contrasting these two overlapping standards (Standard for Access and Control of Instrumentation Embedded within a Semiconductor Device) seems to have become almost a religious debate within our industry for the last few years. There are probably a few reasons why this is a polarizing topic. USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Oscilloscopes with 512 MS Memory30 January 2015 - Pico Technology introduces the PicoScope 3000D Series oscilloscopes. With up to 200 MHz bandwidth, 2 or 4 analog channels plus 16 digital channels on the mixed-signal (MSO) models, and deep memories from 64 to 512 MS the PicoScope 3000D Series are ideal for debugging the latest digital and mixed signal designs. The scopes offer a maximum real-time sampling rate of 1 GS/s and feature a USB 3.0 interface and a built-in arbitrary waveform generator (AWG). The slim case design makes the scopes convenient for both benchtop and portable use. Free e-Learning for testing cellular Chipsets and Devices29 January 2015 – Anritsu has launched free e-Learning courses for mobile device engineers who use its Rapid Test Designer (RTD) software to test cellular modem chipsets and devices under development. RTD e-Learning offers a modular series of professional product training videos. Users can progress through the courses at their own pace to learn best practice test design tips and techniques for testing specific technology areas. Six new Models of 850W DC Power Supplies29 January 2014 - Keithley Instruments introduced the new Series 2268 850W DC Power Supplies. The six models provide voltage and current output levels well suited for automated test applications. They offer maximum voltage outputs of 20V, 40V, 60V, 80V, 100V, and 150V with corresponding maximum current outputs of 42A, 21A, 14A, 10.5A, 8.5A, and 5.6A. Series 2268 power supplies allow outputting any current, including the maximum current, at any voltage. Interview: Our Core Competence is fine-pitch ContactingYamaichi Electronics develops and manufactures contact and test solutions for semiconductors and electronic modules. Headquartered in Japan, the company employs around 3,500 people worldwide, with some 220 employees in Europe. The European headquarters, including a development department for custom solutions for burn-in, development and production testing, are situated in Munich, Germany. There is also a production facility in Frankfurt an der Oder, Germany. We spoke with Bernhard Stolz, Product Manager for test contactors and contacting modules at Yamaichi Electronics Deutschland GmbH.
