Latest Test and Measurement NewsVector Signal Transceiver for Software-designed Instrumentation Platform28 March 2013 – National Instruments announced its second vector signal transceiver, the NI PXIe-5645R, which is built on a software-designed architecture that engineers can modify with LabVIEW to meet their specific needs. The new vector signal transceiver adds a high-performance, differential or single-ended I/Q interface to test both the RF and baseband signals of a device with a single instrument for faster test times using the latest PC and FPGA technologies. Variable-wavelength Modules for optical Test System28 March 2013 - Yokogawa has extended the range of plug-in modules for use with its AQ2200 Series multi-application optical test system by introducing two new tunable light source modules that allow the test wavelength to be varied to suit the user's application. The new AQ2200-131 (1 channel) and AQ2200-132 (2 channels) allow the user to tune the test wavelength to one of the preset DWDM (dense waveform division multiplexing) grid wavelengths. B&K Precision launches App for iPhone & iPad27 March 2013 – B&K Precision launched its new "pwrApp" for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. Adding greater value to its DC power solutions, B&K Precision’s pwrApp allows full monitoring and control of network-connected (via WLAN) XLN-GL series of power supplies over local wireless networks. The primary function of pwrApp is remote operation of all functions of XLN-GL power supplies. Entry-Level Vision System for Color Applications27 March 2013 - Cognex has introduced the In-Sight 7010C, an entry-level color vision system that can distinguish parts by color. The system features 24-bit color resolution that accurately identifies 16 million color variations—more than the human eye can detect. Data Acquisition Technology Outlook 201326 March 2013 – National Instruments released the Data Acquisition Technology Outlook 2013, which provides an overview of the company’s research into key technologies and methodologies that are impacting the data acquisition industry. The Data Acquisition Technology Outlook highlights some of the most pressing trends and opportunities engineers and scientists face today to help them take advantage of the latest strategies for acquiring, analyzing and managing data. Rohde & Schwarz introduces new passive Broadband Probe26 March 2013 — Rohde & Schwarz adds the rugged, passive R&S RT ZZ80 broadband probe to its portfolio. This probe offers a bandwidth of 8 GHz. When analyzing electronic circuits, passive broadband probes such as the R&S RT-ZZ80 are a cost-efficient, rugged alternative to active, high bandwidth probes. They are well-suited for testing transmission lines with low impedance (20 Ohm to 100 Ohm). Trescal acquired ISOCAL Elektronische Geräte GmbH in Austria25 March 2013 - Trescal, an international specialist for calibration services, reinforced its geographical and technical coverage in Central Europe with the acquisition of Isocal GmbH, a calibration service provider in Austria. With a turnover of 2.5 million, Isocal has 17 employees across 2 laboratories located in Vienna and Graz. They are specialized in electrical, temperature and pressure calibration with on-site teams servicing clients in the Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical and Electronics sectors. More Articles ...
