Vehicle diagnostics according to ISO 14229

24 August 2010 - Vehicle Spy, the universal software for vehicle networking from hitex, is now equipped with full UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services) support. The UDS protocol allows to transmit diagnostic data and to update functions in an on-vehicle electronic control unit. UDS is specified in ISO 14229.

Diagnostic files can be loaded into Vehicle Spy to automatically configure DIDs, routines, DTCs, and diagnostic jobs. ODX, MDX and GDX formats are accepted with more to come. Once an ODX file is loaded, one or two mouse clicks provide access to jobs and powerful features such as Bus Query (querying all key info from every ECU on all the busses), Check/Clear Codes (choosing to clear or check codes with one click), Diagnostic Modes (automatically choosing proper diagnostic mode for the specified jobs).

Together with different hardware interfaces Vehicle Spy software enables to perform diagnostics, node/ECU simulation, data acquisition, automated testing, memory edit or calibration, and vehicle network bus monitoring. Vehicle Spy is designed for ease-of-use and a low learning curve.
