LCR Control Module eliminates the risk of placing wrong passive Components

30 April 2014 - Cogiscan announced that it will introduce its new LCR Control Module in booth #7-419 at SMT/Hybrid/Packaging 2014, scheduled to take place May 6-8 in Nuremberg, Germany. The module is a fully integrated and closed-loop system to eliminate the risk of placing wrong passive components on PCBs.

In combination with the Offline Job Setup and/or Line Setup Control module, the LCR Control software is integrated with an electrical LCR meter. The system verifies that the measured values (inductance, capacitance, resistance) are within the tolerances specified for the component part number. This electrical verification can be done at any time prior to mounting the reel on the placement machine.

André Corriveau, head of product development at Cogiscan, stated, “This kind of error-proof system is mandatory in the high-reliability segment of electronics manufacturing including automotive products. Our customers now can benefit from a simple, flexible and powerful solution to eliminate a great risk with minimal investment.”
