First approved Test System for new CTIA MIMO Over-the-Air Standard

06 February 2017 - CTIA included ETS-Lindgren in the MIMO Authorized Equipment List as the first and only supplier that is able to provide a system level solution to conduct MIMO Over-the-Air measurements in accordance with the CTIA Test Plan for 2x2 Downlink MIMO and Transmit Diversity Over-the-Air Performance, Version 1.1. The list includes ETS-Lindgren’s Antenna Measurement System (AMS) Model AMS-8700 as well as the AMS-8900 Model Series.

The ETS-Lindgren MIMO Over-the-Air antenna test system - including the multi-probe anechoic test chamber, related components and EMQuest software - are all part of the CTIA-authorized test system. As part of the CTIA approval process, full system level evaluation was conducted that included the measurement instrumentation as well. The ETS-Lindgren MIMO Over-the-Air test system was approved with various different instrumentation combinations. The list of these approved instrumentation manufacturers is available on the CTIA website.

ETS-Lindgren has long been an active technical contributor to the CTIA standards committees. In December 2002, ETS-Lindgren became the first CTIA Authorized Test Lab (CATL) for mobile station radiated performance testing. This pioneering achievement set the benchmark for accurate antenna pattern measurement – a key metric for evaluating the performance of wireless devices. Today, more than 75% of the CATLs worldwide utilize ETS-Lindgren’s solutions for radiated performance testing.
