JTAG/Boundary Scan Controller for Industrial Production Use

05 December 2018 - The SCANFLEX II BLADE 4 RMxX of Goepel electronic is a new series of products of the JTAG/Boundary Scan controller platform SCANFLEX II. The controllers provide access to instruments already embedded in the DUT circuit to test and program complex boards with problematic physical access. SCANFLEX II BLADE 4 RMxX constitutes a uniform control platform with up to 12 independent, truly parallel Test Access Ports (TAP). The controllers are directly designed as 19" 1U plug-in units and are therefore particularly suitable for industrial production applications.

Depending on configuration, the SFX II BLADE 4 RMxX contains one, two or three integrated SFX II BLADE 4 units that can be controlled in parallel. Due to its multifunctional architecture, the SCANFLEX II BLADE 4 RMxX offers almost unlimited possibilities to combine all technologies, including mixed signal test, flexibly and with highest performance in a single unit. Depending on version, the controllers offer 4, 8 or 12 TAPs at up to 100MHz and 64 channel multifunctional mixed-signal I/O for each integrated SFX II BLADE 4 unit. This enables the synchronized execution of embedded test, debug and programming operations via Boundary Scan (IEEE1149.x), processor emulation, chip integrated instruments or embedded diagnostics.

Thanks to the low installation height of 1U and the multi-slot structure, up to three controllers can be configured in a small 19" space and operated in parallel. The scalability and simultaneous execution of a large number of different test projects results in enormous throughput increases in production. The combination of several controllers together with the JTAG/Boundary Scan software platform SYSTEM CASCON allows asynchronous testing and programming of multiple targets using a central control PC. Thanks to a multitude of special expansion and configuration features, the SCANFLEX II BLADE 4 RMxX is also already equipped for future embedded technologies for testing, validating, debugging and programming.
