News - General T&MNI acquires SET GmbH08 March 2023 - NI (National Instruments) announced the acquisition of SET GmbH (SET), long-standing experts in aerospace and defense test system development and recent innovators in power semiconductor reliability test. Together, the companies will reduce time to market for critical, highly differentiated solutions and accelerate semiconductor-to-transportation supply-chain convergence with power electronic materials such as silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitrite (GaN). Precision DC Energy Analyzer with wide Dynamic Range06 February 2023 - Saelig Company introduced the Joulescope JS220 - an easy-to-use precision DC energy analyzer which measures current and voltage and computes power and energy. It accurately measures electrical current over ten orders of magnitude from amps down to nanoamps. This extremely wide range capability allows accurate and precise current measurements for modern battery-powered and IoT devices where sleep modes may be just nanoamps or microamps but active operational current up to several amps. The JS220 measures current and voltage at 2MSa/s with 300kHz bandwidth, which makes visible the power consumption of short events like interrupt service routines and inrush currents. Microwave Extension for Vector Network Analyzer02 March 2023 - SIGLENT Technologies presents an expansion of the SNA5000A vector network analyzer series, which was released around 18 months ago. The two new models are available in the bandwidths of 13.5 GHz and 26.5 GHz. After the introduction of the HF generator SSG5000A (up to 20 GHz) and the spectrum analyzer SSA5000A (up to 26.5 GHz) in September 2022, SIGLENT is now completing its range of HF measurement technology solutions up to 26.5 GHz with these new models. Wireless Test Platform for 5G RedCap and Cellular IoT27 February 2023 - Keysight Technologies announced its new E7515R solution based on its 5G Network Emulation Solutions platform, a streamlined network emulator specifically designed for protocol, radio frequency (RF), and functional testing of all cellular internet of things (CIoT) technologies, including RedCap. The E7515R expands Keysight's 5G Network Emulation Solutions portfolio, the industry's most robust, which is used in mobile device validation across the workflow, from early design to acceptance and deployment. Climate Change Tests with absolute Humidity Control23 February 2023 - Testing of changing climates is important for product development and quality assurance in the automotive and electronics industries. Their results are relevant for the approval of products and the optimisation of product reliability. Therefore, the test results must be as accurate and reproducible as possible. With the absolute humidity control, weisstechnik has significantly improved the control accuracy of the new ClimeEvent test chambers. Reducing Test Development Time using Simulation Tools22 February 2023 - Pickering Interfaces, a global supplier of modular signal switching and simulation solutions for use in electronic test and verification, announced the company’s hardware and software simulation tools. These tools enable test engineers to begin writing and verifying test program code today, freeing them from supply chain constraints. The software and hardware tools can simulate all Pickering PXI and LXI switching products and most of the company’s PXI simulation products, allowing for fast code development independent of application hardware. Phase Noise Analysis and VCO Measurements14 February 2023 - Rohde & Schwarz introduced improved performance for phase noise analysis and voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) measurements. Both the high end R&S FSWP phase noise analyzer and VCO tester plus signal and spectrum analyzer in one instrument, and the R&S FSPN dedicated phase noise analyzer and VCO tester, are now upgraded. Simultaneous hardware and software upgrades improve the market-leading performance even further, reducing noise levels and measurement times, and increasing accuracy. Both analyzers include test sequence recording functions (SCPI recorder), unique for this class of instrument. More Articles ...
