News - General T&MNon-Contact CAN Sensor10 August 2021 - Hioki launched the Non-Contact CAN Sensor SP7001-95, a one-touch device that can be easily attached to, and detached from, CAN cables with one hand. This revolutionary, non-contact sensor can detect signals on CAN and CAN FD networks in vehicles from outside cable insulation. The ability to detect signals simply by affixing the sensor to a cable significantly reduces the time required to prepare for CAN signal capture by eliminating the cable modification. Hioki’s first non-contact CAN sensor, which was launched in 2019, adopted a screw-based design with a grip that the user had to rotate to secure the device in place after clamping it around the cable. Incorporation of a variety of parts into vehicle designs has led to more complex spaces, making it challenging to attach and detach sensors in some scenarios. Hioki developed the SP7001-95 with a one-touch design that allows it to be easily attached and detached with one hand while retaining the performance of the screw-type model. KEY FEATURES
