Advanced 7 GHz Band Validation Capabilities

Anritsu MT8000A 6G FR302 March 2026 – ANRITSU unveils a joint demonstration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. at Mobile World Congress 2026. The collaboration highlights advanced 7 GHz band device-validation capabilities designed to support the next phase of wireless innovation. Upper mid-band around the 7 GHz spectrum range provides a critical bridge between established midband 5G deployments and emerging 6G spectrum allocations identified at World Radiocommunication Conferences (WRC-23). This band offers an optimal balance of coverage, capacity, and implementation complexity, enabling applications such as enhanced Augmented Reality and Advanced Sensing technologies.

Building on this upper mid-band foundation, Anritsu has introduced a new RF hardware option for its Radio Communication Test Station MT8000A, extending support to the FR3 frequency band targeted for future 6G mobile systems. This new option covers the Lower FR3 band up to 16 GHz, an area now under active global standardization for WRC-27. The platform is designed to be scalable, with future enhancements delivered through software upgrades to accelerate 6G development. With these capabilities in place, through this collaboration, Anritsu and Qualcomm Technologies enable the cellular ecosystem to gain access to reliable, repeatable and comprehensive 7 GHz band test and verification solutions. The demonstration leverages new FR3 ready enhancements to Anritsu’s MT8000A, paired with a test device platform powered by a Qualcomm® Modem-RF System supporting 7 GHz band operation. “7 GHz band spectrum is the bridge to 6G, and our collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies provides the industry with tools to innovate with confidence. We are excited to demonstrate how our combined expertise brings 7 GHz band performance validation to the table,” said Daizaburo Yokoo, General Manager, Mobile Solution Division of Anritsu. “FR3 is critical for the new and wide bandwidths needed for 6G,” said Sunil Patil, Vice President of Product Management at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. “Working with Anritsu, we are showcasing how advanced 7 GHz band validation can provide the industry with the confidence and tools needed to accelerate future wireless innovation.”
