Automated Unit Testing Tool with new Features

18 December 2023 - Hitex released a new version of the trusted automated unit testing tool TESSY. The new release V5.1 comes with new features that make testing faster and more efficient, enabling software developers to achieve high-quality code. TESSY V5.1 comes with redesigned icons making the user interface more intuitive and visually appealing. The new Test Cockpit View gives a summary of the test results and the achieved coverage from the source files of the project. This facilitates monitoring the test progress and optimizes testing efforts.

The Code Access feature highlights variants of the source code that require testing. The Hyper Coverage feature allows for the addition of coverage from unit testing of different test objects, and the addition of coverage from component/integration testing and coverage from unit testing. This feature helps software developers to reach 100% coverage with less tests. The Coverage Reviews feature allows for the commenting of source code lines that are not executed during testing. Reviewed lines are counted for the Hyper Coverage.

The new Test Summary Report in TESSY V5.1 provides the current state of the test project based on source files and tasks. This report helps software developers to have a clear overview of the project and the status of testing. The Changed-based Testing feature enables the execution of test cases only for the affected test object when a change in a source file only affects a single test object.
