List of international Industry Associations and Standard Organisations with focus on electronics and information technology.


American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA)

The mission of A2LA is to provide comprehensive services in accreditation and accreditation-related training. A2LA also offers programs for the accreditation of testing laboratories, calibration laboratories, inspection bodies, proficiency testing providers, medical testing laboratories, reference material producers and product certification bodies.


Canadian Standards Association (CSA)

CSA Group consists of three divisions: CSA Standards, a leading standards-based solutions organization, providing standards development, application products, training and advisory services; CSA International, which provides testing and certification services for electrical, mechanical, plumbing, gas and a variety of other products; and OnSpeX, a provider of consumer product evaluation, inspection and advisory services for retailers and manufacturers.


Control System Integrators Association - CSIA

Control System Integrators Association (CSIA) is the largest organization in North America for control system integrators. Its members, located in the United States and around the world, provide integrated control and information systems for clients in the automotive, chemical, food, healthcare, medical, metal, petrochemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical, plastics, power, printing, pulp/paper, rubber, utilities, and other industries. CSIA's primary mission is to improve the business skills of its member-companies and their executive management - in support of a belief that being a good system integrator goes hand in hand with operating a good business.


European Institute of Printed Circuits (EIPC)

The European Institute of Printed Circuits (EIPC), based in The Netherlands, is an international service provider to the European Interconnection and Packaging Industry. Since 1968, the EIPC is servicing about 110 member companies, including suppliers of machinery and materials to the PCB industry, PCB Manufacturers, contract electronics manufacturers and OEM’s.


European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC)

European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC)is the industry association that promotes the sustainable development of organisations working in the field of photonics in Europe. The members encompass the entire value chain from LED lighting, Photovoltaic solar energy, Photonics Integrated Circuits, Optical components, Lasers, Sensors, Imaging, Displays, Projectors, Optic fiber, and other photonic related technologies.


ESD Association

Founded in 1982, the ESD Association is a professional voluntary association dedicated to advancing the theory and practice of electrostatic discharge (ESD) avoidance.


EuMA - European Microwave Association

The European Microwave Association (EuMA) is an international non-profit association with a scientific, educational and technical purpose. The aim of the Association is to develop in an interdisciplinary way, education, training and research activities.


International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)

The IEC is the world's leading organization that prepares and publishes International Standards for all electrical, electronic and related technologies.



IEEE is the world's largest professional association advancing innovation and technological excellence for the benefit of humanity. IEEE and its members inspire a global community to innovate for a better tomorrow through its highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities. IEEE is the trusted "voice" for engineering, computing and technology information around the globe.



Global trade association dedicated to the competitive excellence and financial success of its 2,700 member companies who include designers, board manufacturers, assembly companies, suppliers, and original equipment manufacturers.


International Organization for Standardization (ISO)

ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is the world's largest developer and publisher of International Standards. ISO is a network of the national standards institutes of 162 countries, one member per country, with a Central Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland, that coordinates the system.


International Telecommunication Union (ITU)

ITU is the leading United Nations agency for information and communication technology issues, and the global focal point for governments and the private sector in developing networks and services.


LXI Consortium

The LXI Consortium is an industry consortium that maintains the LXI specification, promotes the LXI Standard, and ensures interoperability.


MEMUNITY - The MEMS Test Community
MEMUNITY is an open community of renowned companies and institutes that operate in the field of Microsystems Technology, founded in 2003. It was founded by industry leaders who realized that the testing of MEMS devices at wafer level would reduce production costs of MEMS devices, and thus help drive the commercialization of MEMS. This developed into the goal of our community – the development of on-wafer testing technologies for MEMS devices using non-electric stimulation and detection methods..


National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)

Founded in 1901, NIST is a non-regulatory federal agency within the U.S. Department of Commerce. NIST's mission is to promote U.S. innovation and industrial competitiveness by advancing measurement science, standards, and technology in ways that enhance economic security and improve our quality of life.


Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF)

"The Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) promotes the development and deployment of interoperable networking solutions and services through the creation of Implementation Agreements (IAs) for optical networking products, network processing elements, and component technologies. Implementation agreements will be based on requirements developed cooperatively by end-users, service providers, equipment vendors and technology providers, and aligned with worldwide standards, augmented if necessary.


PXI Systems Alliance (PXISA)

The PXI Systems Alliance (PXISA) is an industry consortium that promotes and maintains the PXI Standard. The PXISA is an organization chartered to promote the PXI Standard, ensure interoperability, and maintain the PXI Specification.


Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA)

The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) is the premier trade association representing the U.S. semiconductor industry. Founded in 1977 by five microelectronics pioneers, SIA unites over 70 companies that account for nearly 90 percent of the semiconductor production of this country.



SEMI is the global industry association serving the manufacturing supply chains for the microelectronic, display and photovoltaic industries. Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA)

An international network of professionals who build skills, share practical experience and develop solutions in electronic assembly technologies, including microsystems, emerging technologies, and related business operations.


VXIbus Consortium

The VXIbus Consortium is a not-for-profit corporation made up of the leading companies in the Test & Measurement Industry. Our goals are to develop, support, and promote the VXIbus architecture, the most popular open standard platform for data acquisition and ATE systems in the world today.


Wi-Fi Alliance

The Wi-Fi Alliance is a global non-profit industry association of hundreds of leading companies devoted to the proliferation of Wi-Fi technology across devices and market segments. With technology development, market building, and regulatory programs, the Wi-Fi Alliance has enabled widespread adoption of Wi-Fi worldwide.


WiMAX Forum

The WiMAX Forum is an industry-led, not-for-profit organization formed to certify and promote the compatibility and interoperability of broadband wireless products based upon the harmonized IEEE 802.16/ETSI HiperMAN standard. One of the WiMAX Forum's goals is to accelerate the introduction of these systems into the marketplace.
