News - Service/Maintenance TestHigh-voltage Insulation Resistance Testers14 March 2024 - Fluke announced two portable and lightweight (1.3 kg) Insulation Resistance Testers for fast, accurate and reliable testing up to 2500 V (DC). The high-voltage 1535 and 1537 Insulation Resistance Testers are ideal for industrial electricians, maintenance technicians, electrical engineers and field service engineers looking to simplify frontline troubleshooting and improve productivity. Whether used on the factory floor or in the field at a solar PV installation, for maintenance work on such equipment as motors, transformers or power cabinets, the insulation testers deliver equally rapid and stable resistance measurements and enable users to cover greater workloads with a single tool. Identify Interference in 5G and LTE TDD Networks11 October 2023 – Anritsu Company announced enhanced functionality to the Field Master spectrum analyzer LTE and 5G measurement options. As the rollout and densification of 5G networks accelerates, degradation of network performance resulting from interference in the TDD uplink is becoming more prominent. The latest Field Master software release provides a dual display of the LTE or 5G Frame structure with automatic placement of gates on the Uplink slots alongside the RF spectrum of the gated time slots. Advanced Wire Tracers to locate electric Cables in Walls, Ceilings and Floors12 September 2023 - Fluke launched two new wire tracers that simplify the process of tracing and troubleshooting at energised and de-energised wires in residential, commercial and industrial environments with a safety rating of CAT IV 600 V. The Fluke 2052 Advanced Wire Tracer and 2062 Advanced Pro Wire Tracer kits consist of two essential pieces of equipment – receiver and transmitter. Both kits also include the i400 AC current clamp accessory for safely inducing a tracing signal on cables without contact to live wires. Also included in the kits are test leads, alligator clips, outlet adapters, magnetic hanger and batteries. ODTR for Evaluation of Submarine Cables28 July 2023 – Anritsu Corporation introduced the Coherent OTDR MW90010B to locate faults in submarine cables. MW90010B can evaluate up to 20,000 km and has an easily selectable wavelength that covers the full C-band. It is more portable with a 40% weight reduction for the same product size as the previous model. Software-Defined Handheld Analyzer24 July 2023 - Keysight Technologies expanded its FieldFox portfolio with the new N9912C FieldFox Handheld Analyzer, a software-defined radio frequency (RF) testing platform offering field engineers more than 20 vector network analyzer (VNA), cable and antenna tester (CAT), and spectrum analyzer (SA) options for upgrade and download. Field engineers conduct routine maintenance on and troubleshoot RF, microwave, and millimeter wave (mmWave) systems. During their work, they need to accurately measure a variety of devices or signals, including cables, antennas, and over-the-air (OTA) signals, to ensure robust signal quality and uninterrupted service. To make all of these crucial measurements in the field, engineers need multiple expensive network and spectrum analyzers as well as flexible equipment that can meet rapidly emerging test and measurement challenges. Comprehensive Multi-Speed Ethernet Performance Test Platform for Data Centers20 July 2023 - Keysight Technologies introduced the AresONE-M 800GE, a comprehensive Layer 1-3 Ethernet performance test platform, supporting data center interconnect speeds from 10GE to 800GE. Data-intensive applications like artificial intelligence, high-resolution video streaming, the internet of things, 5G, edge computing, and cloud computing are fueling the need for secure and reliable 800GE network infrastructure. Deploying 800GE into existing network infrastructures creates complex testing challenges for network engineers, who must contend with a variety of new and legacy networking protocols, multiple Ethernet speeds, and a vast array of fiber and copper data center interconnects (DCI). Testing for Industrial Ethernet Installation and Maintenance28 June 2023 - Fluke Networks has launched the LinkIQ Cable+Network Industrial Ethernet Tester (LinkIQ-IE), which is designed to verify cable performance up to 10 Gb/s, and solves network connectivity problems, identifying connected switch, port and VLAN data, optionally running targeted ‘ping’ tests, and confirming the presence and capacity of available PoE.. The continued rise of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) means that there is a growing need for easy-to-use tools for fast and effective troubleshooting. By combining Fluke Networks’ state-of-the-art cable measurement technology and a range of network connectivity tests, the LinkIQ-IE speeds the discovery of network failures. More Articles ...
