News - Service/Maintenance TestBoundary Scan Technology for In-Circuit Tester of Digitaltest13 May 2014 - GOEPEL electronic announced the extension of the SCANFLEX product group in cooperation with Digitaltest. At the core of the extension is the SFX-TAP6 module for boundary scan integration into the in-circuit-tester (ICT) of the MTS series of Digitaltest The technology allows design validation, hardware debug, production test and programming of Flash and PLDs without use of probes or needles. The SFX-TAP6 module is a plug-in card with space saving single slot occupancy and forms the system interface to the Unit Under Test (UUT), which is driven by a SCANFLEX controller. Up to 6 parallel test access ports (TAP) are available with a differential interface and thus provide coverage even for complex UUTs. The architecture of the module supports all modern technologies for Embedded System Access (ESA), such as Boundary Scan, Processor Emulation and Chip Embedded Instruments. Supported connectivity options are all modules of the TIC02 series and furthermore 32 PIP signals. An integrated SFX9305 module can be used to connect BAC (Bus Access Cables) for the test of functional interfaces such as USB, LAN, Bluetooth or CAN. With this integration, the full flexibility and power of the SCANFLEX systems is now open for the in-circuit tester of Digitaltest. Due to the differential interface, test and programming operations can be processed faster and more immune to interference than with conventional single-ended interfaces. As a result of the compatibility to other SCANFLEX components, test and programming procedures can be adopted directly from the laboratory. The SFX-TAP6 module is embedded in the complete transceiver card with two different types. The version with cable interface is designed for the MTS30 and MTS180 systems. The model with vacuum interface serves the MTS 300 and MTS888 systems. The software and hardware of the module can be integrated seamlessly into the MTS testing equipment. “In-circuit test and boundary scan in combination allow excellent test coverage. Through the fully integrated solution of both systems, we provide the user a professional solution with outstanding signal quality and high performance”, said Alexander Beck, Integration Team Manager for the boundary scan unit of GOEPEL electronic. “The proven SCANFLEX hardware architecture in conjunction with the CASCON system software provides a wealth of resources for test coverage. The user can combine the test functions of ICT and ESA completely free.” “The well-established cooperation between Digitaltest and GOEPEL electronic is now complemented by an interface card in the test system” says Hans Baka, Managing Director at Digitaltest. “Thereby the boundary scan hardware is stored right in the test system and is therefore available at the tester interface.” Related Articles: |
