Measuring Conducted Emissions Disturbances at Currents up to 150 A

TESEQ-DC-LISN-M2-10022 April 2013 - Teseq now offers a high current impedance stabilization network (LISN) for measuring conducted emissions disturbances on DC power ports of photovoltaic (PV) inverters. The DC-LISN-M2-100, which conforms to the latest requirements of the international standard working group MT GCPC (grid connected power conditioners), can run at a maximum operating current of 150 A for 30 minutes, or continuously at 100 A.

This enhanced unit offers a maximum operating voltage of 1,500 V and measures disturbances over a frequency range of 150 kHz to 30 MHz. The DC-LISN-M2-100 provides improved performance, testing with impedance levels of 150 Ohms in common-mode and 100 Ohms in differential-mode.

Research results have shown that a typical artificial mains V-network as described in CISPR 16-1-2 cannot be used for the assessment of unsymmetrical disturbances of a photovoltaic inverter’s DC port. CDNs based on IEC/EN 61000-4-6 are typically not specified for high common-mode currents or differential-mode disturbances. And, depending on the switch position, the new LISN works as V, Y or Delta shape as well as offers a defined termination impedance from 1 kHz to 30 MHz.

The front panel of the DC-LISN-M2-100 includes an earth plane connection bar, an EUT port, a switch for selecting the LISN type, as well as a receiver port.

The back of the DC-LISN-M2-100 features a power input with selectable ranges of 230 V or 110 V for the unit’s two cooling fans (also located on the back panel), an EUT power input for a PV generator/simulator and a protective earth connection. An optional calibration kit is available for this unit.
