Boundary Scan Integration into Flying Probe Tester

Digitaltest MTS50527 January 2016 - JTAG/Boundary Scan test technology by GOEPEL electronic is now also available in the Flying Probe Tester (FPT) Condor MTS 500 from Digitaltest. The combination of both test methods results in a cost and time efficient platform for test of electronic assemblies in production.

The integration of Boundary Scan software SYSTEM CASCON into the MTS 500 FPT allows expansion of test coverage compared to the stand-alone test processes. SYSTEM CASCON applies the flying probes actively in test generation and execution. The complete solution has been optimized for a comfortable interaction between the two systems. The selected hardware uses the recommended compatible interfaces. By linking the software, the user can control the entire test sequence via a single test plan in the Flying Probe software CITE. The Boundary Scan software remains completely in the background on the test station. On the hardware side, the integration is carried out through a TAP transceiver in a plug-in card, which can be easily intgrated into the FPT.

The maintenance requirements of the MTS 500 test systems are extremely low and they can also test boards with large dimensions. Integration of GOEPEL electronic’s Boundary Scan solutions enable even more adapter-less test coverage.
