Latest Test and Measurement NewsAnalysis Platform for 25/50/100G Ethernet14 March 2016 – Teledyne LeCroy announced the latest in High Speed Ethernet Fabric tools, the SierraNet T328 Protocol Analysis systems. SierraNet T328 offers users the state of the art analysis platform for the fast emerging 25G, 50G and 100G Ethernet standard and for the new 32G/128G Fibre Channel interconnections. RF Contact Probe for high-speed Data Connectors11 March 2016 - Peak Test Services has just released its new P61/G series of spring contact probes specifically designed for heavy-duty testing applications such as automotive cable harnesses. The probe is threaded so it may be securely screwed into the test fixture, and equipped with a gold-plated steel spring to ensure the tip makes accurate contact with the subject component, maximising the capture area and minimising damage to the probe or the component. Area Monitor for free definable Frequency Bands10 March 2016 – Narda Safety Test Solutions has a new selective Area Monitor on the market: AMS-8061. This autonomous measuring station monitors electromagnetic fields from 100 kHz to 6 GHz in up to 20 freely definable frequency bands. This allows the field exposure levels due to e.g. GSM, UMTS, and LTE as well as DAB and DVB-T to be recorded separately. The measurement conforms to ITU-T Recommendation K.83 “Monitoring of electromagnetic field levels”. Dr. Gerhard Fettweis joins NI Board of Directors08 March 2016 – National Instruments Corporation announced that Dr. Gerhard Fettweis, Vodafone Chair Professor at the Technical University of Dresden (TU Dresden), was appointed to the NI board of directors. New Connector Board for Cable and Harness Tester08 March 2016 - CAMI Research announces a new board for its CableEye cable and harness testing systems. Populated with solder pads to accept a suite of TE-Connectivity Micro-MaTch connectors, the board addresses markets plagued by vibration and fretting corrosion, and requiring “miniaturized connectivity”. Rated to 500Vdc/350Vac, the CB49 may be used on all CableEye models. Vector Signal Generator featuring 2GHz Modulation Bandwidth07 March 2016 - With the introduction of the new R&S SMW-B9 wideband baseband generation option, Rohde & Schwarz is providing leading-edge baseband capabilities in its R&S SMW200A high-end vector signal generator. The R&S SMW-B9 option extends RF modulation bandwidth to 2 GHz enabling R&D engineers to generate signals with extreme wide bandwidth up to microwave frequencies. No other vector signal generator in the market offers a fully calibrated wideband solution up to 40 GHz in a single device. Hybrid Memory Cube Compliance Test Software04 March 2016 – Keysight Technologies introduced the industry’s first compliance test software application for hybrid memory cube (HMC) device and system testing. The Keysight N8839A HMC test application helps memory design engineers accelerate turn-on and debug of HMC systems by automating the execution of transmitter physical-layer tests on Keysight Infiniium V-Series and Z-Series oscilloscopes.
