News - General T&MBureau Veritas Group acquires 7Layers07 January 2013 - The 7Layers Group announced that as of the beginning of 2013, its ownership has changed and that it now belongs to the Bureau Veritas Group. Bureau Veritas is a world leader in conformity assessment and certification services. Under the deal, 7Layers, a specialist in wireless electronic products testing, certification, engineering & test management solutions will bring years of experience, global coverage and an established position in the world of wireless communications into the Bureau Veritas Group. National Instruments acquires Signalion17 December 2012 – National Instruments announced the acquisition of Dresden, Germany-based Signalion GmbH. The acquisition delivers strong wireless communications talent and technologies to the NI platform, which are critical to NI’s goal to continue to drive long term growth in the communications test industry. Signalion founders, Dr. Tim Hentschel and Dr. Thorsten Dräger, will remain with the company as co-managing directors. Konica Minolta acquires Instrument Systems05 December 2012 - Konica Minolta Optics, Inc. announced that it has acquired Instrument Systems GmbH (IS), a major German lighting measurement equipment manufacturer. As a business company of the Konica Minolta Group, KMOP manufactures and sells optical products and measuring instruments for industrial and healthcare applications. Six New I/O Modules for NI CompactRIO and NI CompactDAQ Platforms04 December 2012 – National Instruments announced six new C Series modules designed for NI CompactRIO embedded control systems and NI CompactDAQ modular data acquisition systems. By expanding the C Series platform, NI provides engineers and scientists with new and improved options for a wide variety of embedded control, monitoring and data acquisition applications. Tektronix introduces new Entry Level Oscilloscopes28 November 2012 – Tektronix introduced the TBS1000 Series of entry-level oscilloscopes with prices starting at just €389 / £343. The TBS1000 Series (for Tektronix Basic Scope) is designed and manufactured by Tektronix, and backed by a 5-year warranty.
