Latest Test and Measurement NewsdSPACE Expands its Presence in the United Kingdom20 July 2018 - dSPACE, a supplier of solutions for the development and testing of electronic control systems, opened a new project centre based at Warwick in the United Kingdom. The addition of this second UK location complements the company´s office in Melbourn, Cambridgeshire, and addresses the steadily growing presence of dSPACE products in the UK market. mmWave Radio Heads for 5G NR Research and System Prototyping19 July 2018 – National Instruments (NI) announced two series of new millimeter wave (mmWave) radio heads for the mmWave Transceiver System. The new radio heads, which cover spectrum from 24.5 GHz to 33.4 GHz and 37 GHz to 43.5 GHz, are targeted at wireless researchers prototyping 5G New Radio (NR) systems. Differential Noise Figure Measurement on 5G Devices and Microwave Systems18 July 2018 – Anritsu introduced the industry’s first solution capable of conducting extensive characterization of the differential noise figure of differential devices used in high-speed wireless communication systems. The solution, which integrates a new differential noise figure option into the Anritsu VectorStar vector network analyzers (VNAs), allows R&D engineers to verify the receiver performance of low noise amplifiers (LNAs) and other devices used in the front-end of 5G and microwave back haul systems. 8 GHz Mixed Signal Oscilloscope with 25 GS/s Sample Rate simultaneously on all 4 Channels17 July 2018 – Tektronix introduced the 6 Series MSO mixed signal oscilloscope. The new oscilloscope extends the performance threshold of midrange oscilloscopes to 8 GHz and delivers a 25 GS/s sample rate simultaneously on all 4 channels – an industry first for this class of oscilloscope – to accommodate the needs of designers working on faster, more complex embedded systems designs. Flying Probe Tester for oversized PCBs16 July 2018 - atg Luther & Maelzer extended its range of Flying Probe test systems by launching a line for test areas of up to 40’’ width. The oversized systems complement the standard line which can load boards with sizes of up to 27’’ width. Special network technology and aerospace applications are driving the demand for high test coverage and 4-wire testing (Kelvin test) for large PCBs. Checking Twist Pair Relationships in short Cables13 July 2018 - CAMI Research developed a new function for its CableEye cable and harness test system for checking and measuring twist pair relationships in cables as short as six feet. This feature is now standard in the model M4 low voltage continuity tester, and available as an option for HiPot (HVX-series) testers. The same circuitry allows for measuring cable length, length to break, capacitance, and resistance with precision (4-wire). Wideband RF Signal Analyzer with Streaming Capabilities12 July 2018 - Tektronix announced the addition of IQFlow functionality to its RSA7100A wideband signal analysis solution. This enhancement delivers the speed and flexibility needed to perform real-time digital signal processing (DSP) and support hardware in the loop (HWIL or HIL) test for radar and electronic warfare (EW) systems.
